The Ready2Kick parent guide
How much should you budget for kids’ football in Singapore?
Understand the fees, the coaching your child will receive, and the commitment behind a package before choosing a session.

Your child is keen to try football. You find a few sessions nearby, but the fees are hard to compare: one academy charges by the month, another sells a package, and another asks you to enquire.
The S$180 figure is a four-session budgeting example, not a monthly quotation. The amount you pay upfront may cover a whole term or package. To choose well, look at what the fee includes, whether the coaching suits your child, and how flexible the arrangement is.
Start with the session, not just its price
A 60-minute session with a small group is a different offer from a 90-minute session with more children. General football training and specialist goalkeeping also serve different needs.
Ask how many children usually train with each coach, how groups are divided by age and experience, and what a typical session involves. A smaller group may allow more individual attention, but the ratio alone does not tell you how well a session is coached.
For a beginner, look for a group where your child feels welcome, understands the activities and gets opportunities to participate. For a child seeking more focused development, ask what individual feedback or specialist work is included.
A fee is useful context. A trial helps you see what that context means for your child.
Budget for the amount needed to start
The headline session fee may not be your first payment. Check for registration, a required jersey or kit, membership and GST. If your child will join a team, ask whether match or league fees are separate.
In our snapshot, published registration fees at several academies are S$80–100, sometimes including kit. Some programmes also require a separate membership. Include these charges in the amount you need to start, even when they are paid separately.

For a family membership, ask whether siblings share the fee. Spreading it across two children changes the cost per child, but the full payment still belongs in your upfront budget.
Choose a commitment that fits your family
Paying per session, monthly, by term or through a package changes when you pay and what happens if plans change. A monthly fee may still require cancellation notice. A package may expire even if you miss sessions.
Before paying, check how holidays, illness, rain cancellations and make-up sessions are handled. Ask whether unused sessions can be paused, transferred or refunded. Do not assume the same policy applies at every academy.
Training more often can also reduce the price of each session while increasing the family's total bill. Choose the frequency your child enjoys and your week can support, including travel from school and other activities.
Ask the academy to spell out the package expiry date and cancellation notice in writing. The conditions deserve as much attention as the fee.
Use a trial to check the fit
A trial lets you see the group, meet the coach and test the journey before making a longer commitment.
During the trial, notice whether your child is involved, whether instructions suit their age, and how coaches support children who need help. Ask afterwards what they enjoyed and whether they would like to return.
If you are enrolling siblings, ask about family discounts too. Some academies publish them, but eligibility and the way the discount is applied vary.
Six questions before you enrol
- How many children usually train with each coach?
- How long is the session, and which group would my child join?
- What is the full first payment, including kit, registration and GST?
- How many sessions does it cover, and when do they expire?
- What happens if a session is missed or cancelled?
- What notice or charges apply if we stop?
The right choice is a session your child enjoys, with coaching that suits them and a cost and commitment your family is comfortable with.

About these figures
Based on 41 academies in Ready2Kick's October 2026 snapshot, checked 1–8 October. The S$45 median uses nine selected published rates, including single sessions and package equivalents; it isn't a Singapore-wide average. Registration, kit and membership fees are extra, and GST is included where stated. Budget examples are illustrative. Confirm current fees with the academy.
